Today, I am in a new home. I am a little sad because I adored my old place, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I am now living in an Extended Stay!!! It is SUPPOSE to be for a month. (My fingers are crossed.) We are waiting for a job that my husband has in Gainesville, FL. Man oh Man...This will be a unique twist to my site.....
I only have two burners. NO oven to make homemade bread or cookies. NO dishwasher and barely any room. I will be trying to create as many one dish meals possible for the next month.
WISH ME LUCK!
Hi Miranda,
ReplyDeleteOhh will miss all the delicious cakes and cookies..but for a short while only ya...so I will still be looking forward to your one dish meal which I am now trying to cook simple :)
Wishing you and family all the best in your new place :))
I feel your pain.. I miss my old place a bit too, but Ive come to love my new one. Wishing you all the best in the interim.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your temporary kitchen. If anyone can come up with some great stuff with only two burners, its you!
ReplyDeleteKnowing me and how I would adjust to that situation, I wish you BIG luck! A new challenge! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great challenge though working in a small kitchen. I am sure you will come up with amazing things despite the obstacles.
ReplyDeleteI lived for 6 years in Paris with NO OVEN, a bar fridge and only 2 hotplates. And I managed some pretty impressive stuff. So I have faith in you!
I believe that you will make the best out of it!
ReplyDeletebless you hope hubby gets the job
ReplyDeleteYou are always welcome to come over to Tampa and use my kitchen, as long as you leave some leftovers! I can feel your pain, after 15 moves with the army, we have spent many weeks+ in temp quarteres. Can't wait to see what you come up with. GOOD LUCK I know you will make the best of it!
ReplyDeleteOkay... I googled "stove top one pot meals" and found a few sites that have some recipes, at least for inspiration.

After following your blog I am sure you can pull this off. Just remember to keep it simple. I had an apartment like that before I got married and somehow managed to impress Chris with my cooking... wait maybe it was my mom's cooking that impressed him! Good luck with everything.
It will be a challenge, but you can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteWe need a moment of silence for your old kitchen *bows head* I would be devestated to not have an oven.*pats you gently*.....you poor darling!! First off buy yourself a bread machine...or a small convection oven..you can buy both for under $100. But then you run into the problem of space or usefulness after you move to a permanant place. I am going to keep you in mind when I go looking for recipes!
ReplyDeleteHope you can make the best out of the current situation. At least it's only temporary.
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to seeing some creative one dish meals.
Hang in there baby!!! I know you will figure something out...keep smilin' and you'll make it no problem :D
ReplyDeleteOh Miranda, I'm wishing you the best in this endeavor! I have to tell ya, I am quite excited to follow you and see what you come up with under these circumstances!! I can't believe CC won yours to, lol!! Man, I need some of that luck!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update - and sending you warm wishes and good thoughts as you meet challenges.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you Miranda!
ReplyDeleteHow are you're girls? All better? Did you guys have a wonderful Halloween? Hope so!

Hang in there, Miranda! I hope things will work soon for your husband's job. Best wishes to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of luck in this new adventure! I lived in a 23 foot Dodge motor home for a while. Small kitchens give new meaning to creative cooking.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear more stories :)
Good luck! I'm sure you will do great:)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, and I'm tuning in to see the magic you can do in your temporary kitchen!
