My New Kitchen

Today, I am in a new home. I am a little sad because I adored my old place, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I am now living in an Extended Stay!!! It is SUPPOSE to be for a month. (My fingers are crossed.) We are waiting for a job that my husband has in Gainesville, FL. Man oh Man...This will be a unique twist to my site.....

I only have two burners. NO oven to make homemade bread or cookies. NO dishwasher and barely any room. I will be trying to create as many one dish meals possible for the next month.

WISH ME LUCK!

Good luck in your temporary kitchen. If anyone can come up with some great stuff with only two burners, its you!

Knowing me and how I would adjust to that situation, I wish you BIG luck! A new challenge! :-)

That's a great challenge though working in a small kitchen. I am sure you will come up with amazing things despite the obstacles.

I lived for 6 years in Paris with NO OVEN, a bar fridge and only 2 hotplates. And I managed some pretty impressive stuff. So I have faith in you!

You are always welcome to come over to Tampa and use my kitchen, as long as you leave some leftovers! I can feel your pain, after 15 moves with the army, we have spent many weeks+ in temp quarteres. Can't wait to see what you come up with. GOOD LUCK I know you will make the best of it!

Okay... I googled "stove top one pot meals" and found a few sites that have some recipes, at least for inspiration.
1) http://busycooks.about.com/od/onedishmeals/a/moreskilletmeal.htm
2) http://southernfood.about.com/cs/maindishrecipes/a/onepotrecipes.htm
After following your blog I am sure you can pull this off. Just remember to keep it simple. I had an apartment like that before I got married and somehow managed to impress Chris with my cooking... wait maybe it was my mom's cooking that impressed him! Good luck with everything.

We need a moment of silence for your old kitchen *bows head* I would be devestated to not have an oven.*pats you gently*.....you poor darling!! First off buy yourself a bread machine...or a small convection oven..you can buy both for under $100. But then you run into the problem of space or usefulness after you move to a permanant place. I am going to keep you in mind when I go looking for recipes!

I wish you the best of luck in this new adventure! I lived in a 23 foot Dodge motor home for a while. Small kitchens give new meaning to creative cooking.

I can't wait to hear more stories :)
