Steak Sandwich for my Husband.

I found an amazing website today. It rocked. I actually think I am going to make a couple of her recipes this week. I followed the recipe mostly, but I added a little of my touches. The website is http://thepioneerwoman.com/. She is awesome!!!! Her recipes are incredible. What a great find!!
My Weekly Tossed Salad

I made a regular toss salad with homemade croutons with the steak sandwich. I just cut up lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and add cheese and croutons. This salad I always make a lot of and keep in my fridge for a quick lunch for myself.

Marlboro Man’s Favorite Sandwich

1.5 pounds cube steak (tenderized round steak that’s been extra-tenderized
1 large onion OR 2 small/medium onions
4 French/Deli rolls
Butter
Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
Worcestershire Sauce
Tabasco
(I added a TB to about a 1.5 TBs of Montreal Steak Seasoning) For more flavor.

-Slice onions and cook in 1/4 stick butter until soft and light brown. Remove and set aside.-Slice cube steak against the grain. Season with Lawry’s. -Heat 2 TBSP butter over high heat (in same skillet) until melted and beginning to brown. -Add meat in single layer. Cook one side until brown, then flip and cook until brown, about a minute on both sides. -Add 1/2 (at least) Worcestershire sauce, 5 to 6 shakes Tabasco, and 2 TBSP butter. Add cooked onions. Stir. Top with toasted bread.
I also added cheese to the bread. Swiss.(Moz or Prov would be good too) That is my husbands fav.
I also used my sandwich press to brown both sides of the bun before topping it with the cheese and meat.

  5. Damn that looks good. Leave it to the PW to come up with a manwich like that! pIf you're a fan of that you should definitely try her recipe for "The Best Burger Ever" and serve that with a side of her onion strings. REALLY REALLY good.

p.s. I got an autographed copy of her book, it's pretty sweet.
